​PRODUCES TRUST

Accountable Democracy elevates transparency to a level never before discussed in the public sector, and possibly never imagined. Transparency is provided in the following ways:

• All source code is publicly available. Additionally, we will help technically competent reviewers to reproduce our products from the ground up. 
• ALL applications (other than Open SSL) are written in C (not C++), a ubiquitous relatively simple language using standard C libraries and conventions. In that way, we strive to make our code as readable as possible.
• We carefully restrict our use of SSL for simplicity and readability.
• We restrict company ownership in such a way as to prevent any person or group from gaining control of the company. Ownership is distributed among a broad variety of persons, and the bylaws give the company the permanent ability to prevent a buyout or any form of centralized control.
• Representatives from all political parties on national ballots are invited to periodically inspect our books and our operations.
• The program hashes the executable code, for both the application and the operating system, and it continuously displays the results on end-user devices used for voting. All unused memory is kept at zero and periodically inspected. If anything were to change from the public version of the programs for any reason the code hash totals would change. This assures voters that no changes have been made during the course of an election, and only the official version of the product is being used. 
• We involve national accounting firms to participate with us in the process of monitoring and auditing elections. They will have an operational copy of the secondary server software on their servers actively mirroring the official servers during the election.
